After a rough first round at the United States Disc Golf Championship, it didn't look good. Then, he came back strong and was 3 strokes behind Ken Climo before the last round. After 2 Holes, he was tied, but after the 11th hole, he was down by 5 strokes. After that, I stopped watching to go discing. When I got home, I was amazed to see that Barry had tied Kenny after that round and went into a sudden death playoff. In the end, Barry won. Barry is the only disc golfer to win the World Games, World Championship, and the USDGC. I also believe that he broke a record this year for highest $ Winnings. What a way to represent Wisconsin. Way to go Barry! This is why I'm TDing the first WJDGC. There is still work to be done, and approvals to get, but it all looks good so far. If anyone is interested in helping in any way, please let me know. This event should attract Junior Disc Golfers from all over the State and maybe more. It is planned to be a PDGA D tier event. The date is still being determined, so it won't interfere with the other Tour Events. What about a Club Rating? I'm currenlty working on system to give Disc Golf Clubs a way to measure the performance. I've heard many times that this other club is great, and the one in this other state is awesome. Disc Golf is not about subjectivity or opinion. That is why the basket was invented. (It's either in or not) no one can argue. The idea of the club rating is to recognize and encourage clubs to enhance the game of disc golf in their area. Look for an update on the progress next month. I will be looking for you opinions and help on the subject. Once it's finalized, maybe the PDGA will adapt it. AADGC HAS A NEW MISSION STATEMENT Mission: Increase awareness of the great sport of disc golf in the area through communication, organized events, and improved playing conditions while being consistent with the practices of the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA).
